Proposal for multi camera
Working title: Fame
Musical Theatre
Concept: Unit 23 Multi- Camera Techniques
Location: Hyde Clarendon Sixth Form College
Purpose
For filming Fame I hope to be using about 6 or 7 cameras as well as having a dolly and a cane. This is so that I will be able to get some really good and different shots of the stage and to get a variety of cutaways. I will also use the crane camera at the front of the stage to get the characters facial expressions and emotions. I will be using a sound mixer when we are using fame, so when I will be using the crane it wouldn't get in the way of the cameras that are filming because the mixer will be able to go back and fourth withe the camera this is one of the advantages of using a multi camera set up. I will also be using a talk back system with the camera operators this is so that i'll be able to get the angles that I need. I will also be using SLR cameras which also record sound. This will be really helpful because then when it comes to the final edit i'll be able to put the best audio onto the final piece.I am going to give each of the camera operators a scripted piece so that they can read it to give them a ruff idea of the show and to capture the best moments, otherwise if I didn't do this the camera operators wouldn't know were to place the cameras at the time. I will also get the producer to have a run through with them so that they know were to put the cameras at that time to make the film look good at the end. We don't have to worry about the lighting due to the lighting technician already doing it the only thing we will have to do is get the camera to match the lighting so it isn't too dark or too light in some shots, this is where the rehearsal of the show will come in handy.
